Leaf Retreat Italia, Biella, sub-Alps

We welcome you to our dog-friendly accommodation, but this time in a revitalising mountain setting! We are based in the foot hills of the Alps, in the region of Piedmont, Italy. It is an area of scientific interest. The area is sat on a Fossil Super Volcano within the Sesia Valley, and we even have our own natural spring water supply. It is the perfect location to explore the northern region of Italy. Just 10 minutes away from the the wonderful Oasi Zegna with winter sporting activities, mountain bike trails, woodland walks and concerts. Just 20 minutes away from the creative Unseco city of Biella, known for wonderful food and beer festivals. Milano is close by (the ultimate shopping city), or perhaps the historical city of Torino? For those who love a swim Lake Orta and Como both have dog-friendly beaches, all within the hour. Piedmont and the surrounding Aosta Valley are the perfect places for the wine enthusiasts.

A Bungee Jump in Veglio!

A 10 minute drive to Veglio Mosso, home of the Colossus Bridge, which offers a 153m bungee jump! Who's in?

Dog-friendly Beach Time?

Arona is a lovely lakeside town. Why not explore the area and then rest up at Pirolino Beach. This beach is free, dog-friendly and has a cafe too! Perfect!

Lakes and Live Music

Enjoy the area of natural beauty at Lake Pistone. Explore, bike, hike and then head to La Monella for a lovely meal over looking the lake, with live music. Wed evenings only.

A Perfect Sunday Chill

Enjoy a short walk through our woodland where you reach Madonna della Brugheria. Perfect on a Sunday, with prayers heard resonating through the trees and an amazing view. There is a lovely restaurant too, serving coffees, lunches or dinners. Bike hire available. Fri, Sat and Sun only.

An Evening of Fine Dining

Visit La Foresteria. Enjoy a five course dinner, al fresco, overlooking the mountains! A real treat for the foodies out there.

Beach Bar, Lake & Watersports @ Orta

Why not head to MiamiSpiaggia at Lake Orta. You will find sun loungers and a bar by the lake! Activities such as canoeing are on offer. A really lovely family business and an ideal way to spend a day.

Forest Parties!

Italians are social animals, and it is no different in the mountains! All the different villages each host a party on the weekends, during Summer. A great way to mingle with the locals, which is always good fun!

Kinesiology Session

Why not book a Kinesiology session with Wally Bodi @ Nabu Che, our neighbour! Kinesiology is a form of therapy that uses muscle monitoring to look at imbalances that may be causing disease in the body. Kinesiology aims to detect and correct imbalances that may relate to stress, nutrition or minor injuries. With over 40 years experience Wally has incredible insight.

Magical Islands of Lake Maggiore

Visit Stressa, Lake Maggiore. Enjoy a boat trip to the islands of Isola Madre and Isola Bella with gardens and boutique shops. A perfect tourist day out.

You can drive from the UK with your doggies in 15 hours. It is a pleasant trip if you make a stop in Riems and Djion, overnight. It is 1 hour drive from Malpensa Airport, Milan (MXP). Or, Aosta Valley.
